The world is changing rapidly, and blockchain technology is part of a new technological revolution. With the rise of Bitcoin, so many new investors are seeing the potential in the cryptocurrency markets, whether they are hoping to invest in a centralized exchange, the DeFi sector, or an underrated token with a low market capitalization and a lot of potential.

These days, it’s impossible to downplay the resilience of the cryptocurrency markets. This week the price of Bitcoin has rallied back to near $30k, nearly double that of November last year when it’s price dipped below $16k , and while NFTs may be down, some say they are not out. The DeFi sector is also helping the entire sector grow significantly. Many people have been able to capitalize on this growth, and gain significant wealth as a result.

Some people might assume that they already know the path of the typical crypto millionaire: they researched the space early, bought a bunch of Bitcoin—and voila: instant millionaire. The truth is that Grant Sabatier’s path is a lot more complicated than you may think. Here is some interesting advice from Sabatier, a certified crypto millionaire.

Sabatier’s rising net worth

grant sabatier himselfThere are many people out there eager to get millions or billions of dollars out of the crypto game, but Grant Sabatier was more concerned with overall financial freedom. This makes sense, given the fact that he’s an author/entrepreneur known for his financial advice. However, his best move may have just been buying 69 Bitcoin for only $72 each.

Grant Sabatier is not your average crypto millionaire, because he isn’t dead-set on trading cryptocurrency on a daily basis. In fact, Sabatier is enjoying his retirement thanks to being worth 1.25 million dollars, and he is public about the fact that he cares more about financial security than amassing more crypto assets. He retired at the age of 30

Sabatier might be retired, but that doesn’t mean that the crypto millionaire relaxes all day. He’s the author of a successful book called Financial Freedom, and he takes the time to promote the book when he can. Sabatier is a co-founder of BankBonus, as well, where he regularly still writes about finance.

Do your research

For Sabatier, that was about a decade ago. He watched a Bitcoin documentary in 2011 and was fascinated, then decided to spend hours researching what it was and how it worked.

Sabatier has already made a lot of money with cryptocurrency, but he still understands that knowledge is power. He reads newsletters about crypto and listens to cryptocurrency-focused podcasts because he understands that knowing more about the space allows him to identify the next opportunity. He points out that some social media platforms, like Twitter, have a more toxic discourse surrounding the crypto sector.

Why did Sabatier decide that it was time to bet on Bitcoin? Well, he researched the space extensively before he invested a dollar. He started by watching a documentary in 2011, and then decided to check out the Bitcoin whitepaper to learn more about how it works.

This crypto millionaire started small

It might be an energetic Gen Z investor who realized that this technology would change the world, and decided to go all-in with their money. Years later, they had enough money to afford a brand-new lifestyle.

While this might be the story for some people, this certainly isn’t the case with Grant Sabatier. Sabatier might be worth a lot in cryptocurrency NOW, but his original investment was EXTREMELY conservative. He decided to only invest $5,000 in Bitcoin. It was around 1% of his net worth at the time.

Other influencers might tell you to go “all in” on a specific coin or token, but Sabatier thinks you should still be careful. To this day, he advises that new investors “tread lightly” and never invest more than 5% of their net worth in cryptocurrency.

Why did Grant Sabatier get into crypto?

What made crypto millionaire Grant Sabatier decide to invest? You will find that some crypto millionaires might answer this question very differently than others. Some might have just heard about Bitcoin from a friend and decided that it was worth taking a closer look. Others may have decided that blockchain technology was really what would drive Bitcoin forward and bet on that technology rather than the digital asset itself.

The answer is a bit less dramatic than you might expect: it was really just an experiment. In fact, even AFTER he became a crypto millionaire, Sabatier wrote a CNBC op-ed saying that it might not be the best idea to invest in Bitcoin, and that it was impossible to value. He wrote the article in December 2017, after the massive 2017 cryptocurrency bull run.

What’s next for Sabatier?

Sabatier might be technically retired, but he still gets featured in major publications such as Forbes, Entrepreneur, and more. He’s now considered to be a financial expert, and the fact that he’s a crypto millionaire certainly helps his overall credibility. Grant Sabatier is also known as the founder of Millennial Money, which was eventually acquired by Motley Fool.

It’s clear that Sabatier is not religiously loyal to Bitcoin, or cryptocurrency in general. In fact, he is more known for giving financial advice in general rather than focusing specifically on the cryptocurrency sector. He often gets interviewed about how he was able to save so much money by the age of 30. Sabatier also has a Financial Freedom podcast where he offers more advice to listeners.

Sabatier’s story is certainly inspiring. There’s a good chance that you already have a lot more money in your bank account than what Sabatier started with, considering that he was able to go from $2.25 to a million dollars in just five years. To this day, he calls his Bitcoin purchase “the easiest money I ever made.”
