What fashion brands are looking toward the future? These four fashion brands are already interested in how the metaverse can offer unique and engaging experiences with their customers. Let’s examine them one by one.
Gucci
Gucci remains one of the most respected brands in the fashion industry, and it’s no secret they’ve embraced the metaverse. Several weeks ago, Gucci announced Vault, an online concept store in the metaverse, where, in partnership with Superplastic, the company plans on selling SuperGucci NFTs.
Gucci is currently seeking a Web3 manager who can help Gucci drive sales and create strategies for the “fast moving and growing area of NFTs and digital art.”
Burberry
Burberry is taking an interesting approach to the metaverse. The company has partnered with gaming companies like Tencent Games and Mythical Games to drop various NFTs. The company created a Burberry-themed playable NFT for the popular game Blankos Block Party.
Burberry is already bragging about its NFT success in its quarterly updates, so it’s pretty safe to expect that the company will eventually begin hiring for the metaverse. While there may not be any listed job openings now, expect that to change relatively soon.
Nike
There are fashion brands, and then there’s Nike: arguably the most powerful fashion brand in the world. While some fashion companies are coy about flirting with metaverse concepts, Nike has been embracing the metaverse for some time now.
Nike recently acquired RTFKT, a design studio that creates NFTs and virtual sneakers for the metaverse. Many experts have claimed this is proof Nike is betting big on the rise of virtual products and experiences. Nike is also aggressively hiring for the metaverse, as well; the athletic apparel giant is currently hoping to fill 5 metaverse-related roles.
Balenciaga

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to Balenciaga? Some might think about high-end streetwear sneakers, while others may conjure up handbags that cost thousands of dollars. Guess what? It looks like Balenciaga is betting big on the idea that people will want their virtual accessories in the metaverse.
That’s why Balenciaga is not just hiring for the metaverse: they created an entire metaverse business unit. The respected Spanish luxury house also previously collaborated with Fortnite to create skins, clothing, and accessories.
What fashion brands will dominate the metaverse?
There’s no question about it: established fashion brands already have an upper hand when it comes to the metaverse. Since these brands are established, it’s easy to see how people would seek out their virtual clothes for their avatars and accessories.
It’s also important to note that many fashion companies might not be hiring for the metaverse in public: they could be recruiting for positions through various agencies and intermediaries.
Regardless, the fashion industry looks to profit immensely from the growth and the expansion of the metaverse. Fashion brands will have to work diligently to create innovative and engaging metaverse experiences for their customers.
